Today’s Encouragement is Mark 2:17 NLT When Jesus heard this, he told them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor-sick people do. I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.”
I have come to Call –
He said, ”I’ve come to call… those who know they are sinners.”
Those who think they are not sinners – don’t hear His call. Instead, He calls, speaks to us, who recognize our sin, our sinful nature (which every single human being has, regardless of what we may think)! We know we need help; we need a doctor! Someone to help us get “well”, to help us to overcome the sinful nature… and that is Jesus!
If we could do this ourselves, we wouldn’t need Him at all. But we cannot, no human being can overcome the sinful nature… it is humanly impossible!
So, we choose to accept the gift of life which He alone offers us! His Grace! Forgiveness! Mercy! Love! Acceptance! And then we become new creations in Christ! 2 Corinthians 5:17 “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!”
Father God, we are overwhelmed by Your kindness and Love. Amazed that You would make a way for us to be saved from our inherent sinful nature and become completely new! All our sin erased, past, present, and future! Thank You Lord!
