Today’s Encouragement is John 8:27 NLT But they still didn’t understand that he was talking about his Father.
Still didn’t understand-
Much of the entire chapter of John 8, beginning with verse 12, records Jesus talking with the religious leaders. They plied Him with their most insightful, challenging questions. He responded with the Truth to them, sometimes directly to their questions and sometimes speaking to the unstated root of their questions. They always responded to Him with doubts.
And in the midst of the discussion, v27 – they still didn’t understand… could not accept, that He was the Son of God.
My friend, our intellectual, logical perspective demands answers according to our “human logic.” Things that are understood by our observation, our five senses, or our human logic thought processes… all these are extremely powerful “proofs” to us humans. But to God, our logic, our human evaluation tools, including the probing questions of these religious leaders, are powerless and unimportant.
Jesus was, and forever is who He claims to be.
Whether it makes sense to us, or seems logical, or we understand it or not. He is! He was! And forever will be Lord, Son of God, Savior, Brother, and Friend.
Father God, Help us to look beyond our human logic, our limited understanding, to faith, to trust, to hope in Jesus, Your Son, as our Savior.
