Today’s Encouragement is Matthew 6:12 NLT And forgive us our sins, as we have forgiven those who sin against us.
As we have forgiven –
The forgiveness we need from God is something we ask for, pray for, and are given freely by God, – just as we have forgiven – those who have sinned against us.
Too often we ignore the last phrase (as we have forgiven…) and simply ask God to forgive us.
Please understand this difficult truth: God forgives us – in the same manner – the same proportion – as we forgive others.
That person whom we just cannot forgive… is a barrier between us and the forgiveness of God! And is it possible that… this could be ourselves?
We each make our own decision to not forgive them… and that decision – to not forgive – is the barrier which stops you and I from receiving the forgiveness we need from God!
I don’t like writing this! I want God’s forgiveness to be extended to me regardless of how I act! Whether I forgive others or hate them…
But God’s Word is Truth and we must accept, and believe His Truth by faith… in order to be free!
Father God, help us to forgive, genuinely, completely. So that there is no barrier between us and Your forgiveness. We need Your forgiveness so desperately, Thank You for making it possible for us.
