Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 75:1 ESV We give thanks to you, O God; we give thanks, for your name is near. We recount your wondrous deeds.
We Recount-
What we choose to remember, to recount, the mental records we all keep, is a primary influence on our lives, attitudes, and outlook.
The things we recount, consider, proclaim, recall, and remember, are powerful in determining the way we view life, our worldview.
We may recount the hurtful things others have done to us, the times we’ve been betrayed, the losses and tragedies, our failures, mistakes, and undeserved suffering…
Or we can choose, with God’s Grace, to recount the wonderous deeds of God.
The Bible is full of His wonderous deeds, and recounting, remembering, and retelling them strengthens our faith, renews our hope and optimism.
What wonderous deeds of God do you recall?
First. Salvation through faith in Christ! This is the greatest deed or act of God that has occurred or will ever occur!
Next, add your own favorite biblical deeds – deliverance of Israel from Egypt, parting the Red Sea, healing the sick, resurrecting Lazarus… and finally, from your life, what has God done for, in and through you?
As we recount, retell, recall, and reflect the wonderful deeds of our wonderful God… our minds are transformed – from doubt to trust, from fear to faith, despair to hope.
Father God, bring to our minds the wonderous deeds You have done, both recorded in the Bible and what we’ve experienced in our lives. And strengthen us through them. We ask in Jesus’ Name.
