Today’s Encouragement is Matthew 14:24-25 NLT Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water.
Jesus Came –
The scenario was, Jesus sent the disciples across the sea in a boat. It was dark, and there was strong winds and heavy waves… the disciples, several were experienced fishermen, ‘were in trouble’!
And.
Jesus.
Came.
He came to them, to help, to save, to deliver, even in the storm, alone, he walked on water to get to them, to save them!
Friends, He does the same today. In my life, when I was at my lowest, not even knowing what I needed, but knowing I was ‘in trouble’ … at that time, His time, Jesus Came. He knew exactly when and where.
Notice there’s no mention of the disciples praying or asking for help in this situation. Only that the wind and waves were against them, and they were ‘in trouble’. And then –
Jesus Came.
He still does you know… He comes to help His own. In our time of need, sometimes even before we ask, even before we realize how badly we need rescue – Jesus Comes. Because we are His. And He says (v27b) “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here!”
Thank You Jesus, that You save us, that we can take courage in You, knowing that You have already come, and You are now, and always with us!
Take Courage
