Today’s Encouragement is Isaiah 26:3 (NLT) You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!
Thoughts are fixed –
What are your thoughts fixed on? We do this all the time, we start thinking about something, obsessing possibly, but it seems there is always something rattling around in our heads demanding attention. For many of us, this thought will be worry, or it might be fear, hatred, or anger… but our minds are always ‘fixed on’ something, and usually, it’s not a good thing!
God offers His people a better way! A better alternative! He suggests that we choose to fix our thoughts on Him. Because He is Good, He is Loving, He is full of Hope and Peace. These are all contrary to ‘this world’, to the thoughts we normally have raging through our minds, destroying our peace (of mind) and depriving us of hope.
He reminds us of this alternative, a better way, to fix our minds – several times.
Whatever is pure… think on these things (Phil. 4:8),
Fix our eyes on the author and perfector of our faith (Heb. 12:2).
A great help to me is Praise and Worship Music, like the song attached today. These songs, wash our minds with the Word of God (Eph. 5:26), and bring (fix) our minds and our hearts to Him, away from this world and all its trouble, worry, sin, and fear. Choose life, my friend, Choose to fix your mind on Him.
Father, we thank You for the blessing You have offered us, to turn away from the fear, worry, and self-focus of this world, and to turn our eyes, and our minds to You instead. Help us to choose You and the Perfect Peace which You alone can offer us.
