Today’s Encouragement is Romans 6:16 NLT Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.
Whatever you Choose –
We often cry out in our frustration, “I don’t have a choice!” Oh, but we do my friends! God gave everyone the power to choose! Including the power to choose the most important thing in our lives… that is – whom we will obey.
And it’s a clear choice; simple, but not easy…
We choose once, but also daily, even minute by minute… will we obey God or… not obey Him?
Everything that is not obeying God is sin and leads to death.
Notice that ‘The Choice’ belongs to us. We aren’t merely victims of circumstance! We choose!
Each day, each moment, we can choose to obey. And this way, we live in God’s Kingdom. Or we can choose our own way- outside of His Kingdom.
All other choices are immaterial, subordinate to this one. And yesterday’s choices do not limit today’s… there may be consequences from previous choices whether good or bad, but each day, each moment, we are allowed the opportunity, the choice, to obey Him.
Each day, each moment, we can choose (regardless of our previous poor choices) “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:13). The choice is ours, always.
Father God, Thank You for allowing us the power to choose; for Granting us Free Will. Help us to choose wisely, choosing to obey and follow You!
