Today’s Encouragement is Luke 10:41-42 ESV But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things, but one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”
One thing –
We are simple people. We need, and we seek a clear truth. Searching for the ‘One Thing’ that is necessary… the “Key to it all”, the ‘holy grail’, the ‘answer’. We inherently know ‘it’s out there!’, we sense that this ‘pot of gold’ exists! Many fables and stories carry this theme of questing for some ideal… the ‘One Thing’.
And we, as believers in Christ, have it! Already! Now! We have the One Thing!
Mary sat at Jesus’ feet, in rapt attention, she was entranced by His Presence, His Words, and His Love.
And There it is! This is the One Thing! He is the One Thing! He is The One! Jesus.
All that He alone, is all that we need…
Thank You, Father, for providing Jesus for us. He is the One thing we need. He is all we need.
