Today’s Encouragement is Hebrews 10:34 NLT You suffered along with those who were thrown into jail, and when all you owned was taken from you, you accepted it with joy. You knew there were better things waiting for you that will last forever.
Better Things Waiting –
How is it possible to accept, with joy, the loss of everything you own? We own so much stuff in America that we have created a rental storage business to keep all unused stuff! And if all these possessions were taken from us… could we joyfully accept that?
The key is the next sentence… better things are waiting for us!
Friends, we have this life, this body, these possessions, for a very short nanosecond of eternity… even our most precious ’things’, our family, our spouse, children, or the possessions and property we ‘own’ – these are only ours as long as we are living in this life… which is one single grain of sand in the Sahara!
Yet for us who believe… there are truly – Better Things Waiting! And These better things… will last forever!
Father God, grant us the perspective of eternity, which we can only glimpse through our limited imagination – so that we might accept with joy any loss which we experience in this life. Only You can make this possible.
