Today’s Encouragement is Colossians 3:3 ESV For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Hidden With Christ –
We are dead to sin by our rebirth into the Kingdom of God. When we accepted God’s invitation to become His people, by accepting Jesus as our Lord, we became completely new! 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Our old life is dead! Now, we can return to that dead life, its behaviors, attitudes, and perspectives if we choose, continuing to live as though we were dead… we have the choice! Many believers have done so! But the price is high… eternal life!
Or – with our consistent surrender to God’s guidance and with full reliance on the Grace of Jesus, we can live safely ’hidden in Christ’, a life of Faith. This enables us to ‘put off’ the things of death, and ‘put on’ the things of Life!
We do nothing perfectly, for we are all sinners saved by His grace, and always will be in this life! Yet our lives, our actions, thoughts, and choices do determine and reveal the direction of our lives… our direction is either toward our Loving Heavenly Father or it’s away from Him. No middle ground; no standing still.
Read it again and accept God’s Truth about You!
“Your life is hidden with Christ in God.”
Father God, we need Your transforming power to work in our lives to assure us that we are made completely new, and that we are hidden with Christ, in You! We admit this is difficult to comprehend, so please open our hearts to Your Truth.
