Today’s Encouragement is 1 Timothy 1:5 NLT “The purpose of my instruction is that all believers would be filled with love that comes from a pure heart, a clear conscience, and genuine faith.”
Filled with Love –
Paul clearly states the reason why he writes letters of instruction to these fledgling churches. He is writing to teach them, other believers down through the years, and now you and me, these many centuries later:
so that…
they will be filled…
with Love!
This is not our imperfect, and often selfish, human love, but God’s perfect Love. This is a Love which can only come from God. And He pours His Love into our undeserving lives in order to give us a pure heart, a clean conscience, and pure faith. No one deserves or earns this perfect Gift of God’s Love! It is His Gift to us!
Remember first that: God Is Love. (1 John 4:8)
And the only two commandments which Christ gave us as His followers were: Love God and Love others as you love yourself (Matt 22:36-40).
As He (First) invites us to Himself, we then can respond, accept, and receive God’s pure and perfect selfless Love into our lives. Then, and only then, we then can sincerely Love ourselves and Love others… His Love fills us then overflows from within us, and finally flows onto/into others.
This is the purpose of our instruction in God’s Word!
Father Thank You for making Your perfect Love available to all who accept Christ as Lord. Help us to accept and embrace Your Perfect Love!
