Today’s Encouragement is 1 Peter 5:10 ESV “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”
A Little While –
Perspective is so important for us as believers. Peter had just advised us to resist the devil and be strong in our faith (v9). The battle we face is resistance, resisting temptation. And doing so is considered suffering in this context.
And it is temporary, ‘for a little while’… though it never seems so when we are in the midst of this battle! This is where a godly perspective is so crucial. If, even for the entire duration of this life, we suffer so, this life on earth is less than a single breath of our eternal life, a nanosecond.
And we have this promise my friends, from God’s Word… after we suffer, for only a little while… God Himself will restore us! He will strengthen us! He will confirm and establish us! Not because of our strength, nor even our faith… but because of His Grace, because we are His own.
Help us Father, for we are Your fragile and feeble people, clinging to You in Faith, in times of suffering. We choose to trust in Christ alone as our Salvation.
