Today’s Encouragement is 1 Thessalonians 2:4 ESV “but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts.”
To Please God –
You and I have been approved and entrusted with the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ. What a privilege!
Did you hear that first part? We are approved!?!? What? Yes! That’s what it says! And we are His chosen people! He Approves of us!
Now we are often quick to say, “Yes But…” to God’s Word and that’s a really bad habit my friends… Take Him at His Word!
This verse goes on…
We have been approved and entrusted with the Gospel… now we will speak! But not to please people… but to please God! In this earthly world of ‘political correctness’, and all the ‘things we can’t say, or we’ll be labeled ‘intolerant, racist, homophobic etc.’ we are under the worlds microscope of examination and scrutiny! But GOD has already examined us, approved, and entrusted us with His Truth!
We are to speak, to live, to openly BE the people of God which is a stark contrast to the growing darkness in this world. Yet, we are the people of His Light!
Father God, we realize we are nothing, and can do nothing, without You, so we need Your strength to work in us, to do as You instruct us. Help us to Speak to Please You!
We ask in Jesus’ Name.
His Strength is Perfect
