Today’s Encouragement is Colossians 2:6-7 NLT And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. [7] Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
Grow Strong –
Then – your faith will grow strong…
When?
When we have accepted Jesus as Lord of all, our lives, this world, all creation…
When we continue to follow Him…
When we let our roots grow down deep into Him…
And When… our lives are built upon Him.
Then-
Our faith will grow strong!
And
We will overflow with thankfulness…
How? Once we have accepted Jesus as Lord of all, our lives, this world, all creation…
This may come at the point of our salvation, but also possibly before or after. Accepting Him as our Savior is receiving His Grace and Forgiveness, we may not at that time, know much more than… ‘I’m a sinner in need of a Savior’. As we come to understand more of who Jesus truly is, we begin to realize He is truly the Lord of Lords and King of Kings!!! And this is the beginning of recognizing He is Lord over everything!
Having realized He is Lord, we continue to follow Him, choosing His way rather than our own or someone else’s. We choose regularly, daily, to follow Him… wherever He leads…
Then, “let our roots grow down deep” into Him. This is Christian growth, growing deeper and deeper into our Faith, sending out roots from our souls which anchor us in the soil of His Truth.
and then we come to recognize that…
Our lives are built upon Him!
