Today’s Encouragement is Colossians 2:9-10 ESV “For in him [Jesus] the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, [10] and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.”
You Have Been Filled –
Notice the terminology… ‘have been’ past tense… meaning Already! Done Deal! And… we have been, already Filled… ‘in Him’! He has already Filled us! We didn’t do it, earn it, strive for it… He Filled us! Already!
Remember: We may not ‘feel it’, but God’s Truth doesn’t need our permission, agreement, or our emotional consent! He is Truth! Our feelings don’t negate His Word! Our acceptance, however, determines the degree of blessings which become reality in our lives. For example, if I gave you a million dollars, put it in a bank account in your name, then told you about it. Is it yours? Of course! The Truth (just for example!) is that you now have a million bucks in your bank account! But… suppose you just don’t believe me… you choose to reject what I’ve said. You don’t go to get your money! Will you get anything from this gift?
In the same way we must trust and have faith in, God’s Truth. And accept the Truth which His Word provides us… rely on it. Accept what He has already given!
We have been (already) filled in Him!
Father, help us to accept the Truth of Your Word, to believe, trust and have complete confidence in what You say! That we have been, already are, filled by You! For You are the Truth!
