Today’s Encouragement is Isaiah 40:8 NLT The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God stands forever.”
In this world we have so many disposable things. So many that our landfills are filling with our discarded and disposable things! We have storage buildings for the disposable things we haven’t yet disposed of – because our houses are filled already with our disposable things. All things fade away.
I’ve lived such a short time, almost 70 years, yet many of my generation have already died, their flowers faded, and mine is graying, balding, sagging, and much more trouble to maintain than just a few years ago. There are things I could easily do in the past which are no longer possible. The grass is withering.
But, before and after our things, before and after our life on this earth… God’s Word stands forever.
We all need a solid foundation to stand upon. So much is changing all around us, what is unchanging, trustworthy, and True?
Our God – He does not change (Num 23:19)
His Word – Stands Forever (Is 40:8)
And His Love – These things remain, Faith, Hope, and Love (1 Cor 13:13)
Father God, we thank You for the eternal truth, standing forever, which You have provided for us; for Jesus, and His Salvation, for Your Word, and for Your Love.
All flesh is like the Grass
