Today’s Encouragement is Ephesians 3:17 NLT Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong.
His home in your hearts –
This is not a maybe, not a blessing reserved for really good people; it is available and true for all believers. Remember just because we don’t “feel it” doesn’t mean it isn’t true and real. Our feelings are not the determinants of truth! God’s Word is! Remember Jesus said, I am The Truth! (John 14:1)
As we believe, and accept Christ as our Savior… He comes to dwell, live and remain, within us. And as we then learn to listen to His voice, hearing in our hearts the Truth He brings, then our roots grow deeper… in His Love! And we grow stronger…in Love.
Because God IS Love, the result of Him living in us, making His home in us, is that we become more and more, deeper, and deeper, firmly rooted, unable to be swayed or shaken, completely solid on and in the foundation of God’s Love.
While we may not understand everything about God, (He is God after all, and He’s not dependent upon our understanding Him) we do understand that His essential nature is Love (1 John 4:16). – for God so Loved… (John 3:16).
And Christ has (already, now) made His Home in our hearts! No one can deserve this! He purifies us, we don’t/can’t clean ourselves enough to be worthy. He cleanses us!
Father God, may we grow deeper in Love, as we listen to You guiding and leading us, from Your Home within our hearts.
