Today’s Encouragement is Galatians 3:27 ESV For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
Put on Christ –
Yesterday we looked at the truth that we are ‘in Him’. Today we continue this thought, and this verse tells us that we have (already, now) Put on Christ, as if putting on a robe, or new clothes.
Place a pen in your Bible and close it. What do you see? Only the Bible because the pen is IN the Bible. In this same way, we have (already, now) Put On Christ.
Remember the wonderful prodigal son story (Luke 15:11)? How did the father (God) respond to his returning filthy son who was ‘fresh’ from slopping the hogs? He clothed him in a fine robe, new clothes! He covered the filth with His glory!
Friends, the Truth is, we are (now, already) In Him, and we have Put on Christ; we are wrapped in Him, covered completely in Christ! Just as we were baptized, immersed in the water, so we are immersed in Christ, covered completely!
And while this may seem to be ‘external’ we will soon see that, while we are In Him… He is also ‘In us!’
Father, as always, we need Your help to bring our faith to understanding, to allow Your truth to become our Truth, and to accept by Faith, the Truth which You have taught us.
