Today’s Encouragement is 2 Corinthians 1:4 NLT “He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.”
He comforts us –
First thought, He is the greatest source of comfort. We often seek comfort in other ways, most of which are destructive! And all fail to compare to God’s Comfort. His comfort can take many forms, but perhaps the greatest comfort we can find is the assurance of His Love regardless of our sin. Because we are chosen, adopted, cleansed of sin, forgiven, brothers and sisters of Christ Himself… we have the greatest comfort any person could ever hope for! The gift of Eternal Salvation!
And – In all our troubles- we tend to see our troubles as personal failures, or attacks from our enemies (either physical or spiritual), or even worse as punishment from God for our sins. (Friends, all the punishment we deserve was poured out on Christ, and He perfectly, once for all, bore all our deserved punishment!)
The Word is telling us Truth, which so often contradicts our thinking… that Troubles are Helpful! They drive us to seek God, and He provides us with His perfect comfort… so that we can help others when they need His comfort.
Like the greatest commandment – Love God and Love others. Seek your Comfort from Him and then share His Comfort with others in need.
God’s Perfect Plan.
Thank You Lord for Your Perfect Plan, Your Grace, Your Love, Your Comfort. You truly are all we need.
