Today’s Encouragement is 1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT “So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”
Nothing you do –
Don’t we all feel, at times, “Why do I bother? No one appreciates what I’m doing for God, He doesn’t seem to recognize all that I do, nobody acknowledges all my hard work for Him. I’m so tired of trying to do His will… it just seems so useless!”
This is sometimes how we feel. But our feelings are not the truth. Feelings are not Facts.
The Word of God tells us, “…nothing you do for the Lord, is ever useless”! This is Truth.
A key point is, ‘do for the Lord’… we are advised to Colossians 3:23 NLT
‘Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.’
Why? Because we belong to Him, because everything is His; then everything we do is either for His honor and glory… or it is for our own selfish purposes. Black and white, no grey.
“At whatever you do!” So, you go to work and flip hamburgers… do it for God’s glory. You make business deals, sell houses, manage schedules, process paperwork… do all this for Him! As if He is your boss giving you this task.
Father God, help us, your own chosen children, to recognize that we can serve You in everything we do, so help us to honor You with our every effort! So that what we do for You has value and is never useless.
