Possible

Today’s Encouragement is Luke 18:27 NLT “He [Jesus] replied, ‘What is impossible for people is possible with God.’”

Possible –

The man asked Jesus, “What should I do to inherit eternal life?”  And, since he asked Jesus about his own actions and efforts … ‘what should I DO?’ then Jesus responded in the same terms… and said… ‘Since you’ve kept all the commandments, go and sell all your possessions and come follow me.’ 

Now my friends, Jesus did not issue a new commandment for everyone to follow!  We know that He came to… Fulfill For Us… All the requirements of the Law – by His life, death, and resurrection! (Matt 5:17).

So, what was happening with this questioning man?

The man in essence asked Jesus what he needed to ‘Do’! What were all the right things he needed TO DO… to ensure that he would have eternal salvation. 

And to this unstated question, Jesus replied… ‘You cannot! But God can!’

Friends, it’s impossible for us to earn our way to salvation!  Because – all of us have sinned! (Rom 3:23) But, God’s grace comes to us through our faith In Jesus as Savior (Eph 2:8) … and then …  the Impossible is Possible with God!

Thank You Father, for sending Jesus – to do for us – what we cannot possibly do!
