Today’s Encouragement is 1 Corinthians 1:25 NLT “This foolish plan of God is wiser than the wisest of human plans, and God’s weakness is stronger than the greatest of human strength.”
Foolish plan of God –
No one is calling God a fool, nor can His plan be foolish! This statement is intended to demonstrate that God’s plan for our salvation does seem foolish to the world. The idea that God would humble himself, come to earth and die on a cross (the most humiliating death possible) for the guilt which we humans should rightfully bear… is ridiculous, it is foolishness to the world. But to us! – the message of the cross “is the very power of God’ (v18)!
My friend, man’s wisdom cannot hold a candle to God’s wisdom. I admit I’m sometimes humbled by the wisdom and skill of some humans, their accomplishments, wealth, and influence. Yet when all of man’s wisdom and works are compared to God’s works, His accomplishments, His riches, His power and influence and His unlimited strength… no human ability, wisdom or accomplishment comes close!
God used a “foolish” plan…
To demonstrate –
His wisdom
His immeasurable Love for us
His sovereignty (Absolute Power).
Father, we thank you for enabling us, ordinary, even foolish humans, to come to You as children seeking refuge, needing a Savior, needing Your Mercy and Love. Thank You for Your Salvation!
