Today’s Encouragement is Daniel 3:17-18 NLT If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. [18] But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.”
Even if He doesn’t –
My friends – this is faith.
The three men who refused to worship the golden statue were absolutely convinced by faith, that God ‘is able to save’ them and that He ‘will rescue us’ (v17)! And rescue them from what? They didn’t say from ‘this fire’, but from ‘your power’, perhaps meaning from man’s evil power.
And then this fascinating addition… ‘but even if He doesn’t’…
Now, when we pray, we do so in trust, hope, and confidence that God hears, loves us, wants to bless us. But also, we pray with the recognition – that He is God – and we ain’t! He will do His will on the earth! We can influence Him by prayer, but He decides-always.
So, we ask, as Jesus did, “Let this not happen, but I’ll accept Your will Father, regardless…”
Friends, even if God doesn’t answer our prayer as we desire, He is still right! Still God! Still doing what is the Best for us, His dearly loved children… whether we understand it or not.
Father God, grant us this depth of Faith, to trust You – Even if You don’t… our Hope is Still… You Alone!
