Today’s Encouragement is Isaiah 40:11 (NLT) “He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will carry the lambs in his arms, holding them close to his heart. He will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.”
Holding them close –
This passage describes the relationship between Jesus and us… He is the shepherd, and we are His sheep. John 10:11 (NLT) [Jesus said] “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd sacrifices his life for the sheep.”
He will carry the lambs, that’s you and me. Why would lambs need to be carried? Because they are weak, tired, injured, or sick, in other words, whenever they need it! And How does He carry us? CLOSE TO HIS HEART!
And – He will lead us, and how does He lead us? Gently!
Can you see the amazing Love of God in this picture? Jesus doesn’t just herd the sheep, He gently leads, He lovingly carries, He guides and protects… and whenever we need it my friends…
He will carry us, close, to His heart.
I can’t imagine a clearer, more powerful, more intimate picture of the immeasurable Love of Christ, than this.
Lord Jesus, we are grateful for Your immeasurable Love. His is a depth of Love we cannot understand, but yet receive by faith alone. Thank You for holding us close to Your heart when we are weak, and for gently leading us when we are strong.
He will hold me fast
