Today’s Encouragement is Luke 2:8-11 (NLT) 8 That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. 9 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, 10 but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. 11 The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David
Good News of Great Joy –
These men were just minding their own business, watching over their sheep, as they had always done.
But one night, one life-transforming, unbelievable night,
An angel!
An angel appears with a message about a baby being born… and suddenly –
- the still darkness of night
- was transformed into brilliant day
- as innumerable angels appeared and
- proclaimed in deafening awe…
”Glory to God in the Highest!”
Luke 2:13-14 (NLT) 3 Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others—the armies of heaven—praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in highest heaven,
and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”
Did you see it? The armies of heaven! Just imagine this for a moment! Selah.
Such is the impact of this one life upon all humanity, upon all eternity. Our routine existence – interrupted by the Divine – and transformed – into Glorious Light!
Can you imagine?
Wonderful Father, help us to see, with fresh eyes, as these shepherds did… the armies of heaven, in glorious song, in brilliant light, rejoicing without reservation, the birth of our Savior Jesus. May we be filled with awe, as they were… at the life-transforming arrival of God in flesh, Immanuel – God-with-us!
