Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 63:3-5 “Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. [4] I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. [5] I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.”
Better than Life –
Imagine… His Love is Better than Life! When our life seems pretty good… His Love is even better, and when our life is very, very, hard… His Love is Better! Certainly, He deserves all the honor and praise we can give him for His Immeasurable Love for us!
I always first think of praise as singing to Him. It’s rather awkward to do this walking around WalMart! … BUT… what if praising Him, “as long as I live”… meant that I also spoke about Him, His goodness to me, His love for me and all people, wherever I went… as long as I live?
What if my first and last response – to every problem I encounter – was a decision of faith, trust, hope in His unlimited love and grace for me, and for all people? What if… as V 5 states, I would then be fully satisfied, as if I’d just eaten a wonderful meal… What if… singing His praises, and honoring him with my thoughts and words… was fully satisfying? Is it possible it would be satisfying to our Father God also? Is it possible?
Lord God, please help me to keep Your love first in my heart and mind so that I can walk a life of praise, honor, and gratitude for who You are, for the grace You’ve granted me, and for Your Immeasurable Love for me.
