Today’s Encouragement is Exodus 6:8-9 NLT “‘I will bring you into the land I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. I will give it to you as your very own possession. I am the LORD!’ [9] So Moses told the people of Israel what the LORD had said, but they refused to listen anymore. They had become too discouraged by the brutality of their slavery.”
I will –
God promised… but Israel refused to listen. And the reason they refused? They were too discouraged by their current circumstances…
Aren’t we just like that? My situation is too dire! My problems too big! The giant Goliath is too powerful for anyone to defeat! The economy is collapsing! No one loves me!
Friends, there are terrible trials in this life. Some which cause us to think, ‘No one should have to endure this!’ Such difficulties are real and tragic! In the time we cling, with every ounce of faith we can muster, to His promises. We can desperately cling to Him. Seek Him, pray, read His word, listen to hopeful preaching, sing, praise, and worship Him, just spend time in His presence. He is there, available, listening, and always loving us!
Remember Jesus acknowledged to us… “in this world you WILL have trouble”, but then He added, “But take heart because I have overcome this world!” (John 16:33)
Whether our circumstances are terrible or trivial; our faith a tiny mustard seed or a giant oak… we must remember and return to God’s many promises. And we must choose to Stand on His every promise!
Every Promise of Your Word
