Come to Me

Today’s Encouragement is Matthew 11:28 NLT Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.

Come to me-

Recently I’ve spoken to several people, all are sincere believers, but all were dealing with significant frustration and anxiety.  These are praying followers of Jesus, there’s nothing ‘wrong with’ their faith, no lack of strength, nor devotion.   Yet their current challenges threaten to overwhelm their faith…

And frankly, to the extent that we believers experience anxiety, fears, frustrations, and worries… these in essence have overcome our faith!  Not finally, not permanently, but practically so!  We are, at that time, yielded to fear and turned away from faith!

Our Bible is full of truth about believers who lived before us, and who lived through such trials, failures and in most cases, restoration!  Remember Jesus came to save sinners (1 Tim 1:15)!

My friends, the answer, whenever we come to such a place, ‘to the end of ourselves’… is to ‘Come to Me’, come to Jesus again… to turn to Him… Here and Now! It is always time to turn to Him for help… always Here, always Now.

Help us Lord, to recognize our continuous need to Come To You, to bring our burdens to You and let go of them, and then to Rest in Your strength, grace and perfect peace.

As you worship with this song, release all your fears, anxiety, cares, stresses, frustrations, anger, self-pity, shame, grief, sorrow… all of ‘IT’, whatever is frustrating you, tormenting you, clawing away your peace, threatening your contentment in Him… release that to Him.  He can handle it, we cannot. And He promises, ‘I will give you Rest’!

Here and Now
