Today’s Encouragement is John 17:26b NLT [Jesus prayed,] “Then your love for me will be in them, and I will be in them.”
Will be in them –
Let’s pause and consider (selah) this closing statement of Jesus’ final prayer before he was arrested.
“Your Love for me will be in them” – can you imagine how great, deep, immeasurable, is God’s Love for Jesus? God’s Love is perfect, complete, pure, unselfish; it fills and strengthens and heals and upholds! It is so far beyond our understanding of Love, that it should be named something different!
“I will be in them” – still more amazing, unimaginable… Jesus in us! Words fail…
Friends, I confess, sometimes I don’t ‘feel like’ either God’s Love nor Jesus Himself is in me… in fact rarely have I ever felt or sensed such an amazing realization! Yet my friends, reread this verse…. Jesus asked the Father in prayer for exactly that! Did God say ‘No’? Or ‘Later’? Or is it just possible that… whether we recognize, acknowledge, or ‘feel’ it… this is Truth!
God’s Love and Jesus Himself- these are IN you and me! Astounding!
Colossians 1:27b (ESV) “the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Lord God, please open our hearts, minds, souls to the Truth You have for us: not what we feel, think, nor logically conclude… but Your Truth alone! You choose to live in us!
Christ in Me
