Today’s Encouragement is John 15:11 ESV These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full.
Your joy may be full –
When I read something like this from God’s word, a promise that seems… too good to be true… I try to remember to ask myself… “Did Jesus fail?” Did He fail to do what He said He would? Did He fail to be who and what He claimed He was and would be? Did He make idle promises? Was He just kidding with us? Leading us on? Maybe, as some believe, such promises were only to those who were physically present at that moment in history…
Here He was speaking to the disciples at this moment, was it only for them? He had just said ‘Abide in me and you will bear much fruit’ and He went on to tell them to love one another… is any of that limited to ‘just the disciples’?
Friends, His promises are True! And for all of those who follow Him, we are all His disciples! (Remember, the ‘originals’ weren’t the most devoted at first either!)
We can have His Joy in us… Fullness of Joy! Because of the things He has spoken to us!
Is it possible? Is He working in us, recreating, refining, and rebirthing us as His own brothers and sisters, adopted children of the Living God? You bet your life He IS! We are His workmanship! And He’s not yet finished! What more do we need to have His Joy within us? And complete Joy!!!
Father God, please help your children to choose Your Joy over all other things. Thank You for offering us Your Joy!
Joy of the Lord
