Early each morning

Today’s Encouragement is Luke 21:37-38 NLT “Every day Jesus went to the Temple to teach, and each evening he returned to spend the night on the Mount of Olives. \[38\] The crowds gathered at the Temple early each morning to hear him.”

Early each morning-

Notice the specific elements of this passage:

Every day – Jesus taught

Every night – he rested

Early each morning- the people gathered

To hear Him – the words of life

My friends, when we choose to hear His words… every day… early each morning… we join this great cloud of witnesses (Hebrews 12:1) whom over the centuries have sought to hear His words, every day, early each morning.

There is something about:

Early morning – it’s quiet, uninterrupted, it sets the pace, atmosphere, perspective of the upcoming day, starts us off right, strengthens and encourages us for the challenges we will have this day.

And also:

Every day – our consistency is an indication of the priority we place upon our relationship with Him.

There’s a biblical concept called, The First-Fruits.  All the acceptable offerings, which God asked us to surrender to Him, are the best, the First of everything. The first and best fruit from the orchard, the first and best animals born, the first and best of our lives… are His! We don’t really ‘give’ anything to God… He already has it all… but by our choice, as we acknowledge His ownership, and surrender our control, our ‘perceived ownership’, possession of our lives, time, money, family, career… everything… In doing this, we are telling Him, “We recognize Your complete authority over this… over all things!”

Early (First)

Each day (Consistently)

Father God, may we place You First each day. May our song – and our hearts, minds, and spirits – rise to You early in the morning. As we listen to You through Your Word.

Holy, Holy, Holy

Selah
