See your Teacher

Today’s Encouragement is Isaiah 30:19-21 NLT

[19] O people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. He will be gracious if you ask for help. He will surely respond to the sound of your cries. [20] Though the Lord gave you adversity for food and suffering for drink, he will still be with you to teach you. You will see your teacher with your own eyes. [21] Your own ears will hear him. Right behind you a voice will say, “This is the way you should go,” whether to the right or to the left.

See your teacher-

Notice the process, the progression in this passage…

Stop weeping

Ask for help

He will be gracious, and He will respond

Even though we have adversity and suffering

He will still be with us

He will teach us

We will recognize Him as our teacher with our spiritual eyes

We will hear Him with our spiritual ears

He will speak to us and show us the way to go!

So often when we are given ‘adversity for food and suffering for drink’, experiencing the troubles and trials in this life… we ask, “Where’s God?” “Why is this all happening to me?” “What did I ever do to deserve this?” “What am I doing wrong!”  Remember what Jesus said?… John 16:33b (NLT) “Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

Father God, help us to continue to look to You for our help, for wisdom, for your Healing Hand, even though our troubles linger longer than we want, trials continue to press in on us, and we wonder if You have abandoned us… Help us to pray, Trusting You, and to remember that You have Overcome this world and have promised to show us the way to go.

I am not alone
