Today’s Encouragement is John 15:4 ESV Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.
Abide in me –
He repeats it here and in the following verses… because it is so critically important that we abide In Him so that He will abide in us.
Other translations use the words: dwell, remain, or live in me. The Amplified reads, ’being vitally united to’…
Friend, this is an invitation from Jesus to be IN Him, to live IN Him, to be vitally united to Him, to remain, to dwell… always IN Him! This is what Jesus offers us, what He desires for us… to be in such a real and uninhibited relationship with Him so that He lives in us, and we live in Him!
Father God, help us to desire this closeness with Jesus so that we are only alive with Him, abiding, dwelling IN Him… this is our prayer!
Abide
