Today’s Encouragement is Romans 2:4 NLT Don’t you see how wonderfully kind, tolerant, and patient God is with you? Does this mean nothing to you? Can’t you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin?
His kindness-
The ESV translates the last sentence as “God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance?”
Our repentance, our recognition of sin, and our resulting desire and decision to turn away from sin and turn To God… this is genuine repentance and only results from God’s Kindness!
Friends, our God is not angry, nor vengeful, nor bent on punishing people for sin. He IS Love! Love is His character… it’s who He is! And His love is demonstrated (perfectly through Jesus) and through His Kindness! In kindness – He made a way for us to be cleansed and reborn and granted eternal life!
Beware those who focus on fear, wrath, anger, or other attributes of God. Friends, it is His forgiveness we need… His Amazing Grace… His Kindness and His Love. This brings us to repentance, helps us to turn away from our selfish ways and to turn to Him!
Father God, we are grateful for Your amazing kindness for us. Help us to experience Your kindness and love more fully each day, and so, to turn toward You, and turn away from our selfish ways.
