Today’s Encouragement is 1 Timothy 6:12 NLT Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have declared so well before many witnesses.
Fight the good fight-
Somehow we often lose sight of the truth that we are in a spiritual battle, a war, and that we are told to fight, put on the full armor of God (Eph 6:10-18), to take a stand against the devils schemes, resist him (James 4:7) to wage war (1 Tim 1:18) and wield the sword of the spirit… which is the Word of God (Eph 6:17). The weapons of our warfare are spiritual and powerful (2 Cor 10:4)! But remember they are weapons … for war!
How often have you, like me, thought, “Why is this happening to me?” “Why is this so difficult?” “Why are there so many troubles, difficulties, and trials?”
My friend, read the verse again. We are in a Fight! And we are told to “Fight the good fight for the true faith”! Though we are often provided with periods of rest and peace… we cannot forget that the battle still rages! We are assured of victory… as we fight!!! Not with our anger, not our human schemes and plans… but in God’s way, God’s armor, His sword of the Word, and His battle plan!
Father, strengthen us for the battle You have placed us in, advise us of Your plan and assure us, once again Lord… that no weapon formed against us will prevail! Amen In Jesus’ Name!
