Today’s Encouragement is Luke 15:12-13 NLT “The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons. [13] “A few days later this younger son packed all his belongings and moved to a distant land, and there he wasted all his money in wild living.”
I want my share –
This son could not have done more damage! He was IN the Father’s household, in HIS family, a beloved SON… but he Rejected God’s Love and blessings and went his own way… living in sinful self-will.
But when life got hard, the money ran out, he realized his mistake, and he returned to his Father God!
And when he returned… how did God the Father respond to him? With open arms, celebration, gifts of grace and acceptance and even covered him with a beautiful robe effectively cleansing him from all the filth of his folly!
Notice the Father did all this mercy, grace, and cleansing before the son ‘cleaned up his act’! God does all the cleansing… my friends, we need to do is turn away from our own way, turn to Him and ask!
We all at times fall away, sometimes willfully, sometimes gradually drifting away… isn’t it an amazing blessing to realize. God is always ready to welcome us home with open arms?
Father, help us to come to our senses and decide to return to you, realizing that Your Immeasurable Love and Grace is always available to us, when we turn to you.
