Everyone who seeks, finds

Today’s Encouragement is Matthew 7:8 (NLT) For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.

Everyone who seeks, finds –

We find what we’re looking for – Jesus said seek and you will find!  Of course, He was speaking of spiritual matters, but the Truth is still there!

One person believes that everyone is against her, everyone is abusive, and that her life is hopeless.  And that’s exactly what she finds.  See finds exactly what she expects to find.

Years ago, I went to lunch several times with a very negative co-worker, he was especially negative towards our boss. I soon began to be very negative toward the boss also.  Somehow, I realized my co-worker was negatively influencing me, and I stopped having lunch with him… and my boss somehow ‘became much smarter’!  (This coworker was later fired!)

So, my friend, look for, seek, the blessings in this life and choose to pray about, and then to leave in God’s hands, all the worries, anxiety, and problems of this life. Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT) “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

I have a friend who read Ann Voskamp’s book, “One Thousand Gifts”.  In this book the author tells how she began looking for, seeking, any blessing, gift, or positive thing she could find in her daily life, and making a list of them… it transformed her life! And this practice also transformed the life of my friend.  Why?  Because they found what they sought… God’s blessings!

What are you looking for?  You can decide today to look for all the blessings of God around you.  God is present and He will guide you… if you Ask and Seek.
