Today’s Encouragement is 1 John 4:16 (NLT) We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.
God is Love –
Now we understand that God is Love. This verse doesn’t say, God Only loves us, John 3:16 tells us He love the whole world … but this goes beyond describing what He does…to tell us Who He is – He IS love! It’s His character, His Nature, the essence of His being!
It is possible that we cannot really have love – any other person – without first experiencing God in some way. (Perhaps this is why Love is our greatest need?). Of course, as we humans always do, we contaminate love, bring it down to our basest level…But God isn’t brought down, His Perfect Love remains as the truest example of Love to us all.
So, consider asking, allowing Him to refill you with His Love. And then His love will… through you… love others.
Because only when we experience Him, experience His Love, then we will have His love to share with others.
Without His love, there’s nothing worthwhile for us to share with anyone else.
Lord God, refill us with You, with Your Love, so that we can love others.
