Today’s Encouragement is Hebrews 6:18b-19 NLT “Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us. This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.”
Anchor for our souls –
We who have fled to Him for refuge. Friends, we are clearly identified as people in need of a great savior, sinful, foolish, willful, rebellious, stubborn, complaining… the list goes on…. We are not as we would like to see ourselves: Noble, Powerful, Strong, Honest, Capable, Stalwart… We may be tempted to falsely see ourselves, or others in this way… but we all have ‘feet of clay’, great people falter and stumble, disappointing others, and themselves. This is why we NEED a Savior! Romans 3:23 “For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”
So, God, in His glorious mercy and love for us provided Salvation for us in Jesus. And my friends, His provision is not limited to cleansing us, Jesus is an Anchor for our souls, a strong and trustworthy anchor, granting Hope and Confidence that throughout the terrible storms, even the mighty hurricanes of life… Jesus is our Hope, our Anchor, our strong and trustworthy Anchor!
Our Kind and Omnipotent Father, we thank You for Your kindness to us, your foolish and weak children… that You have provided Salvation for us through Christ and a Strong and Trustworthy anchor for our souls. Help us to anchor our souls in Christ, now and always!
