Today’s Encouragement is Isaiah 46:4 NLT I will be your God throughout your lifetime- until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.
I will carry –
In the preceding verses, Isaiah compares how man’s idols are carried as burdens by livestock, and how God Himself carries His own. Friends, our idols weigh us down… Isaiah 46:2 “Both the idols and their owners are bowed down. The gods cannot protect the people, and the people cannot protect the gods. They go off into captivity together.”
In contrast to the idols which we create (wealth, popularity, beauty, freedom, intellect, independence, power…) and which only burden us… God says… “I made you! and I care for you, and I do the carrying in this relationship!”
He is our strength and provider! He is Father, Shepherd, Savior! And so much more!
Father God, You are the only Omnipotent, All-Powerful God of all!!! Thank You for Your immeasurable Love and Grace and Mercy for us… that You carry us… throughout our entire lifetime, short or long, in joy and pain, in Your Perfect Faithfulness to us! How can we say thanks enough? Open our eyes Lord to see and understand and know… that always, yesterday, today, and forever… You. Carry. Us!
