Don’t let

Today’s Encouragement is John 14:1 NLT “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me.”

Don’t let –

God has provided so much for us: Just to name a few… through faith in Jesus – cleansing of our lives from all sin, eternal life with Him, everlasting hope, joy even in times of sorrow, confidence to enter God’s very presence without shame, complete rebirth, access to God through prayer, the Holy Spirit to guide and comfort us, declared us more than conquerors… and countless other gifts and blessings through ‘His very great and precious promises’!

God has, already, done more for us than we can recount, or even remember!

And we are in a relationship with Him.  Each of us, individually, in a personal relationship with God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.  A relationship that is (all up to us!) either growing or dormant.  Like a friendship or even marriage, this relationship needs time, attention, thought, and intentional purpose.  Unlike our human relationships, it is rather one-sided, but not as that term usually implies.  it is one-sided in that God is completely ready, willing, and available to grow in relationship with you and me… the depth of this relationship depends on us alone.  He cannot be more ready, willing nor more available that He already is.

The springboard for this thought is the phrase ‘Don’t let’.  We have the power to ‘Let’ our hearts be troubled… or to ‘Don’t Let’ our hearts be troubled.  By choosing to Trust!  And in this same vein, we have the power to grow in deeper relationship with God, or to remain dormant and unengaged in relationship with Him… by choosing not to Trust.

Thank You Lord for granting us the privilege of determining to Trust you or not, to grow in relationship with You, or not… to allow our hearts to be troubled… or not!  You are so very wise.

Same Power
