Today’s Encouragement is Psalm 139:23-24 NLT Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. [24] Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life.
Search me –
David asks God, invites Him, to search him, to know his heart and mind, to examine, and purify him and to lead him.
Now, David didn’t know of Jesus’ perfect cleansing from every offensive thing in the children of God, but today we know – that there is nothing offensive within us, for we are washed clean by the blood of Jesus!
So, because we are cleansed by Jesus, we too can invite God to know our hearts, to search us, and to know our thoughts.
While God already knows everything, He still responds to our invitation… He even gives us the gift of a desire for Him… no one can come to me unless the Father draws him (John 6:44) so Lord, we now invite You – to search us, and know us, and to lead us along the path of Your Everlasting Life!
Thank You Jesus for Your cleansing blood, the perfect undeserved gift of righteousness, right standing, before God Himself! We truly are nothing without You Lord!
