Far more precious

Today’s Encouragement is 1 Peter 1:7 NLT These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold-though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

Far more precious-

This is our Faith, tiny or mountain-moving, – just as it is this moment…

Our Faith – is far. more. precious. than gold!

We too often begin to discount, minimize, and devalue to power of scriptural truth by adding our own ‘buts’ to it.  As if we can change Gods Truth…. We read the words, “your faith is farm more precious than mere gold.” And add, “But, my faith isn’t very strong, or my faith is so weak, inconsistent, wavering…”. Friends, we can take God’s Words, His Truth, as it is without our adding doubts and fears to it!  What if we instead respond with, “Yes Lord, thank You!” rather than our critical doubts?

This passage is about both trials and faith, and how trials influence our faith, and how our faith can remain strong through the many trials of this life.  We don’t know what trials lay ahead, but if the past is any indication… we have some still in store!  So just as fire purifies gold, trials purify our faith.  And this is a far more critical process than refining gold, because our Faith is far more precious than gold or anything else that we can imagine.

Father God, strengthen us as we go through the trials of this life, so that our Faith becomes purer, stronger, and brings us ever closer to You.

More Precious than Silver
