Today’s Encouragement is 2 Timothy 3:16 NLT All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
All scripture-
Paul wrote this letter to his student and friend Timothy to encourage and strengthen him in his growing faith. Timothy was a man of God (see 1 Tim 6:11) already well acquainted with scripture, which at the time Paul wrote this… was only what we call the Old Testament books… and which some consider outdated, unimportant, or just historical information even today.
Yet Paul said it is – inspired by God, other translations read ‘… is God-breathed’. All of it! It is useful! It is necessary for wisdom! It is what guides us to God and what tells us about God and what describes Gods interaction with His own children throughout many ages of history. And it is God-breathed, inspired- all of it!
And all scripture, which God has breathed out for us, is revealing Him to us, who He is, His nature, His wisdom, His justice, His power, and His mercy! And finally, to conclude the matter, to finish the God-breathed teaching we now call the Bible, God breathed the message of His Son Jesus, the Final Word!
Thank You Father for breathing out all scripture for us, and for Jesus, who completes scripture; Your Final Word to us.
