Today’s Encouragement is 1 Thessalonians 4:17 NLT Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. Then we will be with the Lord forever.
We will be with the Lord forever-
And the next verse [18] So encourage each other with these words.
Are you encouraged? Does it strengthen your heart to consider this… that one day, much sooner than later, we will be with the Lord… forever!
Focus with me just for this moment on that phrase… “We will be with the Lord forever…” My friends, when this certain future awaits us, don’t the cares, worries, troubles of this life just quietly fade away? As in His brilliant light, the darkness of this life – ceases to exist, so also in the truth of Eternity with Christ, all our current concerns simply dissolve.
What changed? Only our focus. He’s always been there, always will be, forever. We’ve always belonged to Him, as His adopted children, chosen before our birth… His promises – eternal. But what we choose to focus upon has the control over our entire lives.
So, what is it, that is our focus – the predominant thought which we each choose or allow to occupy our minds, hearts, and spirit?
May I suggest this?… Lift your spiritual gaze to Him now, at this moment.
And consider that He is your true home, now and forever!
Help us, Father God, to focus on You, and Your eternal Truths, that the cares of this life might fade away.
We shall always be with the Lord
