Today’s Encouragement is Acts 26:29 NLT Paul replied, “Whether quickly or not, I pray to God that both you and everyone here in this audience might become the same as I am, except for these chains.”
The same as I am –
Paul spoke this to King Agrippa, as he began to explain how Jesus was the Messiah. Paul said, I pray, I’m asking God, now, that everyone who hears me would – become the same as I am… except for my chains.
He spoke of course about the faith which he had in Christ, the hope, the forgiveness, and Love of God which belongs to us as believers. He wanted everyone, regardless of race, background, status in this world, to become a true believer in Christ!
Can we say this? Is it your desire, your prayer, that everyone become, as you are, except for… the chains.
My friends, the freedom in Christ we enjoy is the greatest gift; it is the greatest blessing which we could ever pray for another to receive. It isn’t really our gift to give. We can talk about it, testify to its effect on our life, explain how to accept the gift, but it is God’s gift to give.
And yet we are too often reluctant, timid, and tenuous in sharing the greatest blessing of our life! Me too.
Father God, please grant us bold hearts to share Your Love, the joy of our Salvation with everyone, always, without fear of their response. We ask in Jesus’ Name.
For the One
