Today’s Encouragement is Ephesians 6:10 NLT A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.
Be strong –
How are we to be strong? In the Lord! And His mighty power! This isn’t a coach yelling at us, “Get up and get back in there and fight!” This isn’t, “You can do it, just keep on trying!” This isn’t, “Call upon your inner strength and keep going!”
What is it? This is “Call on God for your help, ask Him to be your strength, rely on Him not on yourself.” Friends, we need to recognize that most battles worth fighting are far greater than our own strength can handle. We need God’s strength for the battles we face. As God’s children we have, will, and do face great battles! But we are already victorious when we rely on God’s strength!
And – This is a choice we make! We choose to fight the battle with our own strength, or we read on and choose to wear the full armor of God, including our great weapon, (v 17) the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God!
Father, help us to choose Your way, the plan You clearly laid out for us in being Strong in Your Strength. Help us choose to wear Your armor and carry the sword of Your Spirit- Your word, so that we can be victorious in every fight.
