Today’s Encouragement is 1 Peter 5:10 NLT “In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So, after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.”
A little while –
The suffering we endure in this life is only ‘a little while’! That’s Good News!
And after that suffering, look what awaits us! More Good News! We will be Restored, Supported, Strengthened, and placed on a firm foundation.
The troubles and considerable, painful, sometimes paralyzing suffering of this life can threaten to overwhelm us, and even cause us to doubt God’s Love or Power or concern for us. But friends, is it possible that God does this for us; that He uses every experience of our lives, including our suffering (Lord make it just a little while!), to bring us to the finished product, the person He created us to be?
Father God, thank you for allowing us to only suffer for a little while, it too often seems like forever… so that we can be complete, as You designed each of us to be. Give us patience, strength, and hope as we wait for You to complete what You’ve begun in each of us. We trust in You.
