Today’s Encouragement is 2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
Plenty left over-
What kind of a friend would I be… if I knew something, with complete confidence, which would be a great blessing to you, but I was afraid to tell you, because it might offend you, even harm our friendship? Not a true friend at all, right?
Here’s a sensitive subject, yet God’s truth is unquestionable! He will provide, and generously!!! All we need! Even enough so there is plenty left over… to share with others!
“Wait! How do I deserve that? How do I get to that place with Him – that I have everything I need, and plenty left over to share with others? I want to be there!!” Don’t we all?
Consider the context. This chapter is clearly focused on giving, helping others, supporting the church, and God’s abundant blessings for those who do this!
Verse 6 “Remember this-a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.” It might make us uncomfortable to talk about money and giving… but it’s God’s Truth, not man’s! And it begins with faith, plant the seed in faith, and God supplies the abundant harvest.
The Old Testament clearly taught that tithing, bringing a tenth of our earnings… and the first and the best of what we’ve earned, brought great blessings, as does all our obedience to God’s wisdom. Men distort God’s truth all the time… but the Truth is still untainted! When we honor God, in any way, including giving, He will bless us!
My friend let’s Honor Him! Plant the seed, the tithe, the first and best gift… in faith, and see this verse become true in your life.
