Shower us with His comfort

Today’s Encouragement is 2 Corinthians 1:5 NLT For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.

Shower us with his comfort –

Here’s another ‘hard truth’ in the Gospel.  We are comforted according to the suffering for Christ which we experience.  We all just want the comforting part, don’t we?  But the comfort described here is provided… through Christ… to those who suffer… for Christ.

Christ is the center, the reason for suffering and the source for comforting.  Those who suffer greatly for Him need great comfort from Him.

My friends, are we willing to suffer for Christ?  It could be any type of suffering, emotional, physical, mental, spiritual… but it is the suffering FOR Christ which matters… and when we suffer anything for Him, God will, He Promises here, shower us abundantly with His own comfort (the best type of comfort there is!) through Jesus!

Father God, may we have courage to suffer for Christ, as we are assured of You showering us with Your Comfort through Him!
